Design is all about scale, mass, context, and use. Whether one is creating the next soaring urban tower or connecting something new with the ancient, the same core values and methodology apply. My attention to these governing forces allow me to move effortlessly between genres. While my focus of late has been with historical structures; renovations, restorations and repurposing, the ability to create the next new building technology and aesthetic is guided by the same principles.

This project was dictated by the client’s request to have (4) four defined uses within this outdoor space; a dining area, outdoor “living room” with filtered light, a sunlit space and a smaller intimate conversation area. An existing exterior fireplace formed the focal point for this design, flanking rounded wall terracing leads to the lawn and beyond.
