Design is all about scale, mass, context, and use. Whether one is creating the next soaring urban tower or connecting something new with the ancient, the same core values and methodology apply. My attention to these governing forces allow me to move effortlessly between genres. While my focus of late has been with historical structures; renovations, restorations and repurposing, the ability to create the next new building technology and aesthetic is guided by the same principles.

This set was the beginning of a methodology of reusable structural components and panelized design. The set frame was developed to enable flexibility of use and simplicity of construction and has proved to be the basis for any raised platform requirements. Built by volunteer parents and students, this “set kit” allows for versatile construction and reuse of all of the various parts in many different configurations.
